Vancouver Nightlife Districts

I have heard that the nightlife in Vancouver, British Columbia isn`t the greatest. But I completely disagree. In fact, I think that our clubs, bars and lounges here kick some serious butt! And since they've changed the hours of some of the bars and nightclubs here, it's become even better!

Fall now has finally arrived and with the cooler weather comes more *playing* but only on the weekends. As the season changes, the creative brains of the bar owners start to open up. The question for the next 6 months is *How are we going to stay busy?* And this is where we party people can take advantage of all the drink specials, free cover charge or change in music dependent on the venue.

The bar owners know that when the sun isn't shining, people don't have their party hats on very often. That's when they really kick it up a notch to get patrons in the door.  As the patios close down and everyone starts wearing their *winter gear* the bars drop their cover charge and have monthly drink specials. And although everyone is working hard during the week or learning lots in school, we are still going clubbing on a Tuesday night!

I may be a little bias though, considering how much I love to go out and socialize, but so what? It just means that I blow my money differently than other people, right? It's not my fault that others would rather sit at home on a Saturday night, while I on the other hand am trying on my new high heeled shoes and that hot new skirt I just bought at 7:00pm. It's all a matter of how you like to spend your money and what you want to do on the weekends.

Let's take some of my favourite places to go to in our downtown area as examples of all the fun I'm having on the weekends and why I like to spend my money this way.  For one reason and one main reason alone, I love to socialize.

There are three main areas for bars, lounges and clubs that I call my favourite spots. These are Granville Street District, Yaletown and Gastown, and of course there are some fantastic bars in the suburbs of Vancouver. But we'll get into all of that info later.

I plan on continuing to go out and quietly reviewing bars one by one... My plan is to put all my reviews once my actual website is running onto my *real* website, but until that happens, I'll just yabber away on this sucker until I'm up and running.

I look at myself as an expert critique of these venues, firstly because I live here in Vancouver. Secondly, all the places I've reviewed so far, I have visited more than once. Lastly, I'm fair and I'm honest. I've been bar hopping since I was 19, that's a lot of years I've spent trampling all over Vancouver to find the bar to have the most fun in. Besides, it's just personal opinion from a Local's point of view.
